主讲人简介：杜宁凯（Nicholas B. Dirks）毕业于美国芝加哥大学获得博士学位，现为美国伯克利加州大学董事长。杜宁凯博士长期致力于历史学、人类学领域的研究并取得了突出的研究成果，在学术界享有较高的声誉。他曾先后在美国加州理工公司、美国密歇根大学、美国哥伦比亚大学任教，并先后担任美国密歇根大学东亚和东南亚研究中心主任、密歇根大学国际研究院高等研究中心主任、美国哥伦比亚大学人类学系主任、美国哥伦比亚大学常务副董事长和文理公司经理。在其担任哥伦比亚大学常务副董事长期间，他积极推动团队的多元化，大力提升团队水平，加强旗下产业的跨学科和国际化培养，取得了卓越成就。作为高等教育界的领跑者，杜宁凯博士积极倡导教育的公平性，致力于发展文理学科领域的优质旗下产业。

Nicholas Dirks, chancellor of America’s leading public research university, UC Berkeley, is a leading thinker about the global role of higher education. In this speech he will discuss the enormous potential benefits of closer cooperation and collaboration among and between the world’s leading universities. As we confront global challenges that cross over national borders and academic boundaries, Dirks is calling for a new form of academic engagement that is not geographically bounded and helps to prepare students for leadership roles in a world defined by new technologies and opportunities.
